Eddie Money

Eddie Money is one of the most popular rock and roll artist of the past two decades. Songs like "Two Tickets To Paradise", "Baby Hold On", "Take Me Home Tonight", " Shakin", and "Think I'm In Love" reach across generations to build Money a faithful fan base that continues to flock to his shows, and buy his records. Eddie celebrated his 20th year as a recording artist with a new album and home video for CMC International Records. The album entitled Shakin' With The Money Man features exciting new live versions of his previously released hits as well as four new studio tracks. The video with the same title includes brilliant live performances with a dozen chart-breaking hits.

Money has recorded 12 albums and sold over 12 million records worldwide. His career dates back to the mid-70's when rock impresario Bill Graham discovered Eddie at one of Graham's legendary San Francisco Sound of the Cities talent shows. Graham managed Eddie's career until his death in 1991, during which time, Eddie had over 10 top 40 hit singles and became one of the most successful touring acts of the time. "Losing Bill was like losing a father," Eddie said, "I still haven't quite gotten over it, but he would want me to rock on."

His well-known rock and roll extravagances have long since been traded in for a spiritual, family-oriented lifestyle. His beautiful wife, Laurie, and their five children often accompany Eddie on the road and sometimes onstage. "At this point in my life, my family is the most important thing to me, " explained Eddie, "I've had success, money, fame and power for a long time, but nothing gets me higher than the relationship I have with my wife and my children."

On Shakin' With The Money Man, Eddie has recorded what he considers"...the best record I've ever made. I couldn't be more in love with my life and my music today, and this album reflects that to a 'T'..." On the first single, "If We Ever Get Out Of This Place", co-written with Paul Stanley of Kiss, Eddie's maturity is evident in his lyrics about the plight of many middle-class Americans in the 90's. "I can relate to middle-class America with the taxes and bills - I mean, how many rockstars do you know who shop with double coupons?" On a more joyful note, "Everybody Loves Christmas" is destined to be a holiday hit with it's old-fashioned rock and roll persona. For this tack, Eddie reunites with the legendary Ronnie Spector on vocals. It's already a big hit at Eddie's house, where his kids thrill to hearing their names on the record.

"Somethin' To Believe In" is a song about the glass being half-full instead of half empty. "In such a down world today," Eddie said, "Everyone needs a little optimism, something to believe in. Actually this song is the most autobiographical cut I've ever written. My heart goes out to all the homeless people across the country." "Can You Fall In Love Again", co-written with John Waite and up-coming producer Curt Cuomo, will touch the heart of anyone who has ever been in love. "It ain't easy in the '90's," Money quiped.

Shaken' With The Money Man was recorded in July, 1997 at a sold out concert in Southern California. These new versions of Eddie's hits show how great rock songs about everyday life can hold up through the years. "A great rock song is a great rock song forever," claimed Eddie, "Who hasn't knocked down a couple of bevys in their girlfriends' fathers'
car? (Shakin'). Now, THAT's rock and roll." The accompanying home video reflects how exciting these live performances were not only for the audience, but Eddie himself. "I still enjoy this as much as I did 20 years ago," he laughs, "We always play until the cops come."

Eddie Money is an artist with a future as well as a past. He sees his latest release as a chance to look back at yesterday while at the same time moving on to tomorrow
